A: All types. While some grant writers prepare just one type, I prepare proposals and Letters of Inquiry for foundations (private, corporate and family) and government agencies (county, state and federal).
Q: What parts of the grant application will you complete?
A: I am available to complete all parts of your proposal including:
- Abstract
- Narrative (e.g. program description, agency & staff capability, experience, timeline, implementation plan and evaluation plan)
- Budget (in Excel format)
- Budget justification
- Required and optional attachments (sometimes done by staff)
- Cover page and other forms (sometimes done by staff)
Q: What is your typical grant writing process?
A: I generally follow these steps:
- Browse your website
- Review the RFP or funding guidelines
- Meet with agency staff once or twice
- Conduct literature search; gather current data
- Draft narrative, budget & justification
- Send draft to key staff for input and revise
- Assist staff in collating application package or uploading online submission

A: My specialty is WRITING. I tell my clients: If you can talk about it, I can write about it! Most of my clients are non-profit and government agencies in the areas of health and human services and education. Most work in the policy development or direct services arenas.
