About Marianne

Marianne Brown, MPH, provides grant writing and program evaluation services for non-profit and government agencies in the Greater San Diego area and beyond. Much of her work has been in the areas of health and human services and education. Marianne’s specialties include:

  • Writing grant proposals and LOIs
  • Designing and guiding program evaluations
  • Analyzing and summarizing data
  • Researching government, foundation and corporate funding opportunities
  • Training staff on how to write grants and evaluate programs

Born and raised in the California Bay Area, Marianne attended CSU Hayward before transferring to San Diego State University. Here she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a Minor in Psychology, and later, a Master’s Degree in Public Health. After 16 years at the SDSU Research Foundation, she became an independent contractor in 2004.

When she’s not working with clients, Marianne enjoys hiking the hills of Poway, reading her Book Club selections, and solving puzzles – from jigsaws to New York Times crosswords. Because she believes we should all give back, Marianne is an active volunteer with the Friends of Scott Foundation, Friends to Children with Cancer.
